Welcome to Holmen Football!!
Dear Football Family,
Just wanted to send out a last reminder before team camp starts on July 13th. I have receive several emails on what players need to bring to team camp. Make sure they come to camp with shorts, t-shirt, and cleats. They should also bring a notebook and something to write with as we will be giving them offensive and defensive plays to draw out. The plays will make up their playbooks for the season. It is also very important that you have them bring a snack to eat during the break between defensive and offensive meetings. Things that make good snacks are granola bars, peanut butter sandwiches, bananas, and a drink like Gatorade. They can leave the snacks in my classroom to grab and eat when we come in for the break. It is important that your son is getting plenty of water and rest during team camp as the weather looks to be hot. They should spend time out of the sun when they get home to let their bodies recuperate.
Make sure you are looking at the list of items to bring when we head to Osceola on Thursday morning. If this is their first time going to Osceola it is important that they bring several changes of clothes as we will practice two times a day when we are there. They will also need an airbed or a cot to sleep on. I will give the players more information on this as the time approaches.
The required parent meeting is July 13th. A copy of the itinerary for the meeting can be found at holmenfootball.com I can’t stress how important it is for you to have completed the football registration, PRIOR TO JULY 13th, so your son is eligible to participate in team camp and also regular practice starting August 3rd. The process to register doesn’t start until July 1, 2020. Any submission prior to July 1 does not count. It is also imperative that your son has a current physical or alternate year card on file with the High School Activities Office. The physical is VALID if it occurred on or after April 1, 2019. Failure to do so will keep your son from participating in team camp and regular practice. All the information for physicals and the fall sports registration is on the following site: holmenfootball.com Remember that registering for Team Camp by submitting the registration form and money is not the same thing as completing the fall sports registration online. The online registration is for the school district. Camp registration is for me.
The other important part of the REQUIRED parent meeting is when I get the opportunity to speak to you about expectations, procedures, and upcoming events. I will be talking about the Player Apparel Pack that your son will need to purchase for the season, new uniforms, practice schedules, and fundraiser info. I will have girdles for you to purchase for your son (if needed) at the meeting. This year it is REQUIRED that you and your son attend a face to face meeting with me (per district policy). If you fail to do so your son is ineligible to participate in any games until a meeting has been held between the parent, player, and me. Your son will be allowed to participate in practice but not in games. I will be setting up 1 additional meeting for parents that can’t make the July 13th meeting. The date and time of that meeting will be determined in the near future and I will communicate that information to you.
I am looking forward to the start of the new season and the journey it will take all of us on. It will be FUN! I know that people will have questions as we start the 2020 football season. Feel free to contact me by email, text, or phone call.
If you have any questions about the off-season or the program in general feel free to contact me at any time. I can be reached by email, phone call, or text message.
